The Louis Berger Adria team has successfully completed all phases of the review of the Conceptual Design for the Podgorica–Danilovgrad fast road project before the Revision Commission, marking an important milestone in the development of this key infrastructure project in Montenegro.
The project is aligned with Montenegro’s broader spatial development strategy, including the Spatial Plan through 2040. Following the successful review, the next step is the final presentation of the project as part of the reviewed documentation package.
The new road section will improve connectivity between Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Nikšić, while strengthening links to major regional corridors, including the Bar–Boljare motorway and the future Adriatic–Ionian highway.
The project team assessed six route variants across two main corridors, considering technical, spatial and environmental criteria. Most variants converge near Frutak, where integration with the future Danilovgrad–Nikšić fast road is planned, supporting continuity of the wider transport network.
